Highsmith has been a two-way starter the past two seasons for West Craven, playing defensive back and wide receiver in their spread offense.
2008 (late October): Highsmith is leading the state in receiving making 43 catches for 858 yards and nine touchdowns. He is also leading the state in interceptions with five.
