"We are extremely happy for the four youngsters," said Carolina head coach
Roy Williams. "Sean and Raymond have had outstanding seasons and it is nice
to see them being rewarded with those slots on the first team.
"We are also pleased to see Rashad and Jawad on the third team. Rashad was
the leading vote-getter on the third team and I suspect would have had a
good shot at being at least on the second team were it not for his being
sick and out the last four games. I'm very pleased Jawad made one of the
teams in his senior season."

* Sean May and junior Raymond Felton
are the 39th and 40th University of North Carolina men's basketball players
to earn first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. Their selections are the 63rd and 64th first-team selections for Carolina
(including multiple recipients), most in ACC history. Duke is second with 54
first-team selections, including two this season.
* This is the 21st time in 52 years Carolina has placed two players on the ACC
first team. It is the first time UNC has two first-teamers since Vince
Carter and Antawn Jamison in 1997-98.
* Felton is the 15th Tar Heel to earn All-ACC honors (either first, second or
third team) in three different seasons. In addition to being named
first-team this year, Felton was a third-team honoree in 2002-03 and
2003-04.
* Third-team selection Rashad McCants was a first-team pick in 2003-04. Jawad
Williams, also selected to the third team this year, received all-conference
honors for the first time in his career.
* This is the third time Carolina has had four players on the All-ACC Teams
since the league added a third-team for the 1989-90 season. Carolina also
had four selections in 1996-97 (Antawn Jamison, 1st; Vince Carter, Shammond
Williams and Serge Zwikker, 3rd team) and 1997-98 (Jamison and Carter, 1st;
Ed Cota and Williams, 2nd).
