CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Over the past few years, Inside Carolina's radio program has evolved to improve its product and reach more listeners. In the next step to further that goal, "Inside Carolina Call-In with Deems May" debuts this season.

Immediately after network postgame coverage of the game concludes, tune in to News/Talk 680 WPTF on your radio dial (or online at as "Inside Carolina Call-In with Deems May" airs live from the Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill.

The ever-popular Deems May will provide instant analysis throughout the show, while beat writer Greg Barnes will check-in live with his postgame thoughts from Kenan Stadium. And you can be a part of the program by calling in to ask May a question or provide your take on the game.

May has become a Tar Heel fan favorite for his candid and expert commentary in recent years. A 1986 Parade All-America out of Lexington, N.C., May excelled at tight end for UNC and was drafted in 1992 by the San Diego Chargers. He played eight seasons in the NFL and now resides in Charlotte.

"I'm looking forward to working with Inside Carolina and WPTF," May said. "I've received numerous comments from my postgame analysis over the last five years -- both good and bad. It will be fun now to hear from listeners on both sides of the fence, hopefully following many Carolina wins this year."

WPTF is the most listened to talk station in the Triangle or Triad (Arbitron, Spring '08 ratings). It's the second oldest (licensed 1924) continuously operated commercial radio station in North Carolina and one of only two round the clock 50,000 watt AM signals between Atlanta and Richmond.

"We are very excited about this partnership with Inside Carolina," said David Stuckey, the general manager at WPTF. "This show will give fans a great opportunity to voice their unfiltered opinion while driving home from Kenan Stadium or after every Tar Heel Football Game."

UNC fans are invited to attend the live event at the Carolina Brewery, located on West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.
