Report: Thornton Hears from Heels

North Carolina continues to search for post players to fill the void left by the sudden departure of the Wear twins, and you can add Marcus Thornton to the list, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Thornton, a 6-7 power forward from Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake, had signed with Clemson before head coach Oliver Purnell left the program -- at which point Thornton received a full release.

Thornton confirmed only that he has talked with the Tar Heels, and politely declined further comment at this time. He wouldn't say whether or not it was too late in the process to consider another school.
