KANNAPOLIS, N. C. --- In matter of one season, Travis Riley went from the junior varsity team to starting a varsity playoff game for championship contending A.L. Brown High School.

"It was kind of intimidating," Riley said. "… I actually fumbled the first carry I had. I was pretty nervous, but I got over it eventually and had a pretty good game."
