ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. --- Since his performance at the Nike Combine last Saturday, Rashad Hedgepeth has seen a sharp increase in the recruiting interest he is receiving.

"Things have picked up a whole lot," Hedgepeth said. "I didn't have any offers, but after the combine that same day I got the [conditional] offer from Maryland." Hedgepeth, a 5-foot-7, 176-pound tailback from Northern Nash High School, clocked the combine's best 40-yard dash time (4.32 seconds) and recorded a top five SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness) rating (108.76).
