"No confirmation (about the ankle being broken)," UNC Associate Director of Athletics for Communications Steve Kirschner told the Daily Tar Heel late Tuesday. "I understand he got hurt at practice but there was no word that he broke it."
Wear has played 11.2 minutes per game, appearing in all 22 games this season, including one start. He's averaging 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds.
UNC has already been without reserve big man Tyler Zeller for the last month since he suffered a stress fracture in his foot. Zeller is no less than a couple weeks away from returning.
