Pelc, a 6-foot-6, 325-pound rising senior from Houston, Texas, suffered a torn labrum during the season, according to sources. He had surgery shortly after UNC played Pittsburgh in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
Pelc has an active streak of starting 23 consecutive games. He started all 13 games of his junior season at right guard and the final ten games of his sophomore season at left guard. He also played in three games as a freshman.
