"I don't think I have been in a game where there were as many sudden change situations in a game as there were today. It really tests the character of the football team. Sometimes if things are so easy early then all of a sudden, if you are not careful you let up a little bit and allow teams to get back into game."
On Boston College:
"Boston College is a good football team. There is a reason why they have won seven football games. They are very, very physical, especially the front seven. They can blitz you. They did a good job of stopping our running game and we could never get much momentum offensively from the standpoint of running the ball, play action pass and keeping the quarterback clean."
On the play of his defense:
"I thought the story for us again as it often has been all season was the play of the defense. They played extraordinarily well. Their ability to go out and hold them inside the 30 or so yard line and hold them to two field goals is monumental.
"The defense was outstanding throughout the whole ball game on third downs. I think at one point they were 0-9, 0-10, 0-11 on third down opportunities. And if you can get them off it certainly gives your team a chance."
On the offense's struggles after jumping out to a 21-0 lead:
"We tried to get the guys focused on the sideline, but it's kind of hard not to get a little excited and look ahead. But we've just got to do a better job of not letting up because we knew they weren't going to let up… We've got to be smarter with the ball on offense and not turn it over and give it back to them."
On his performance on his 21st birthday:
"It felt really great. God kind of blessed me with two gifts and I had to go out and get another one so it was a really good birthday present."
On his three interceptions:
"Yeah I had one game with three interceptions in high school and I should have had three interceptions in our first game of the season this year but I dropped one."
On the early 21-0 lead:
"It felt like a dream. It was really crazy how some of the things happened out there, but you have to give credit to Boston College. They did a great job to get back into the game by forcing some turnovers of their own."
On if he thought the game would be close in the fourth:
"To be honest I didn't think it would be like that at all. Defensively, we had to try to keep being greedy and get more turnovers so we could build a little bit of a lead. We finally did that in fourth, and that was huge for us."
On the game:
"It was really crazy because the game really did go back-and-forth all day. Boston College kept fighting on defense and so did we. Our defense really stepped up though whenever they got a turnover we wanted to match them, and get one right back."
On his UNC record for interceptions returned for touchdowns:
"Wow, no I did not know that. But you have to give credit to the rest of the guys on defense for giving me that opportunity, especially the front four. They straight dominated today so without them all these interceptions wouldn't be possible."
On his leg injury:
"I kind of bruised up my thigh a little bit, but it's nothing I can't handle. It's a little bruised up, but I actually felt better in the second half, but since we had the lead, the coaches didn't want to take any risks with me further injuring it, so they just kept me on the sideline."
Was the game as physical as it appeared to be?
"Real physical. I take my hat off to Boston College. That's the most physical game we've played. We were just talking about it right now how they bring it... People talk about how their linebackers can't run good laterally, but they ran good laterally today."
Go ahead -- brag on yourself:
"No, I'm not a bragger. I'm going to act like I've been there before. I played a little running back in high school. It felt good -- I'm not going to lie. I haven't run the ball in a long time."
