Mason Suspended

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- North Carolina sophomore tight end Rashad Mason has been suspended from the team indefinitely for violating team rules, a UNC official has confirmed to Inside Carolina.

Mason arrived at UNC as a SuperPrep All-American in Butch Davis' first recruiting class in Chapel Hill. Mason, a native of Nashville, Tenn., was a consensus Top 20 wide receiver among scouting services.

He redshirted in 2007 and saw action in one game in 2008 and did not record a reception. This season Mason has practiced at both wide receiver and tight end.
