02.04.03, 6:00 am update: Inside Carolina has reported that Isaiah Thomas would commit to North Carolina. Thomas declined to confirm yesterday, but according to reports will announce for UNC today.
Isaiah Thomas is a 4-star lineman from Winston-Salem (NC) Carver who had narrowed his choices down to Tennessee, NC State and North Carolina.
Inside Carolina reported Monday that Isaiah "Puff" Thomas had verbally committed to North Carolina over Tennessee and N.C. State.
This was confirmed by Carver head coach Keith Wilkes.
Puff told IC on Tuesday that he had not committed, despite the comments from his coach. However, there was a new development in the saga to land Thomas.
Acccording to an article in the Winston-Salem Journal, Thomas will announce for the Tar Heels today.
“I will make it official tomorrow,” Thomas told Inside Carolina yesterday. “I’m ready to get it over with. The last few weeks have been tough.”
When asked if Thomas had already committed and just didn’t want to make it public, he responded, “All I am going to say it that it’s between Tennessee and North Carolina.”
