Felton Named ACC Rookie of the Week

North Carolina point guard Raymond Felton was tabbed as ACC Rookie of the Week after averaging 21.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds in games against Maryland and NC State. The 6-0, 194-pound, Latta, S.C., freshman had a career-high 28 points in a 86-77 loss at NC State Sunday when he tied the UNC single-game record by hitting eight three-point field goals in 12 attempts. Felton also had five assists, three rebounds and a steal while playing with a severely bruised knee from an injury he suffered in practice on Thursday. Earlier in the week, Felton had 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in a 81-66 loss to 11th-ranked Maryland.
