UNC-NCSU: Sendek Press Conference

Posted Jan 26, 2003

RALEIGH - N.C. State basketball coach Herb Sendek was exhilarated over his team’s 86-77 victory against archrival North Carolina before a sellout crowd of 19,722 at the RBC Center.

Here is some of what Sendek had to say after his team’s 11th win in 15 games, and fourth win in five Atlantic Coast Conference contests.

Opening remarks

I think we all just saw a terrific college basketball game. I certainly thought that Raymond Felton and Rashad McCants played extremely well. I thought those guys were just sensational. I also thought though that our guys played very well as a team again. We played a little better down the stretch, which was important. It was one of those games where you had to be determined to make the most out of every play.

On Cliff Crawford

Cliff is the lone senior on our team. We’ve asked a lot from him this season. Experience is important, so when you have a guy like Cliff that has been there and been through all of this before, that can really help you in close games.

On the best start in the ACC

The guys have kept working. We just show up every day and keep working. It’s important to stay together. You have to be there for each other. Hopefully, now our guys are learning to rally around each other and do what it takes to win.
