Signee Update: Donavan Tate

For the first time since North Carolina signed Michael Rozier in 2004, UNC's football staff will pay attention to the Major League Baseball draft in a couple weeks. Where signee Donavan Tate is drafted will play a major role in determining whether the four-star prospect joins the team this fall.

"Just like any other athlete, if he gets drafted within the time he was looking he'd go [the MLB route]," Cartersville (Ga.) head football coach Frank Barden said. "I don't know what their number or pick is, but I know they have that in mind already."
