Lawson, Ellington to Announce Thursday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Juniors Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington will announce their "decisions regarding next season" at a press conference at the Smith Center on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., according to a UNC release sent out Thursday morning. Both are expected to declare that they will forgo their senior season and enter the NBA Draft.

Lawson was the 2009 Bob Cousy Award-winner as the nation's top point guard, and was also named the 2009 ACC Player of the Year. Ellington was voted the 2009 Final Four's Most Outstanding Player.

While mock drafts vary significantly at this point, Lawson is projected as a mid-first round selection by most experts, while Ellington is projected as a late-first round pick.

Both entered the draft process a year ago and withdrew before the final deadline.
