Renner Enjoys Official Trip

North Carolina verbal commitment Bryn Renner got a taste of what his life will be like the next four years, as he took his official visit to UNC this past weekend.

"We got to interact with all the players and just ask them questions," Renner said. "We got a lot of free time to see the whole campus and the town. I thought it was a lot better than unofficial visits."

Renner, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback from Springfield (Va.) West, says he spent the most time with Cam Sexton, a junior quarterback who served as his host.

"He showed me around the campus," Renner said. "He just showed me where everything is when I come in. He showed me around where the dorms are [located]."

Renner says he didn't ask, and Sexton didn't tell, about Sexton's future as a Tar Heel.

"We just talked about the town," Renner said. "We didn't get into specifics about him."

Renner also spent a great deal of time with fellow official visitor Morgan Moses, who drove to Chapel Hill with Renner and his parents, and Moses' host Mike Dykes.

When he wasn't hanging around players and fellow recruits, Renner was spending time with John Shoop, his primary recruiter and future position coach.

"We talked about the upcoming season," Renner said. "We didn't talk about [red-shirting me]. We mostly talked about next year and the team for next year. He didn't really talk about specifics about me, at this time.

"He showed me the equipment room and locker room. It was a lot of fun."

Throughout Renner's stay, he sported a sling on his left (non-throwing) arm. On the December 29, he had minor shoulder on his left shoulder

"I'm basically just making sure that it gets 100-percent so that when I come in, in June, I'll be completely ready and completely healthy," Renner said. "I get my sling off in about two weeks; then I can start the real rehab."

Renner said he expects to be 100-percent in early-April.
