Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie was surprised when a reporter told him that North Carolina senior Tyler Hansbrough won't play tonight when the Wildcats take on the top-ranked Tar Heels.
To Gillispie, it didn't really matter.
"Then they're down to four or five pro players instead of six or seven," Gillispie said.

Kentucky Coach Billy Gillispie practically guaranteed that his team will play "dramatically" better in its second game of the season.
But given that the opponent is No. 1 North Carolina, Gillispie sounded braced for an 0-2 start to this season. That would be historic. Only twice since 1926 has UK started a season with two losses: 1975-76 and 2000-01.

Coach Butch Davis has reversed his thinking on North Carolina's quarterbacks and will open competition at the position before Saturday's game against N.C. State.
Davis now wants to watch a week of practice by Cameron Sexton and T.J. Yates before choosing a starter for the noon game at Kenan Stadium in UNC's home finale. Sexton is the current starter but Yates, the starter for the first three games, has returned from a broken left ankle suffered on Sept. 20.

A day after saying junior Cameron Sexton would remain behind center for Saturday's game against N.C. State, Davis said Monday he planned to tell Sexton and sophomore T.J. Yates to be prepared to start.
