Highsmith Jumps at UNC Offer

Since attending North Carolina's summer camp, Erik Highsmith has favored UNC and been on the Tar Heel staff's radar. When the coaching staff offered him a scholarship Wednesday night, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound wide receiver from Vanceboro (N.C.) West Craven immediately accepted.

"Charlie Williams and Coach [Butch] Davis called and offered, so I committed," Highsmith said. "I've wanted to go there for a while.
