Cam Sexton thought his days of meaningful playing time at North Carolina had come to an end last season, when he was beaten out for the starting quarterback job by redshirt freshman T.J. Yates and attempted only one pass in 12 games. So when opportunity knocked--in the form of Yates' ankle injury against Virginia Tech--Sexton scrambled to open the door.

Lest the UConn football team feel like the only team that has been forced to turn to a backup quarterback, here comes the University of North Carolina. The Tar Heels (3-1), like the Huskies (5-0), appear rather confident that their No. 2 can carry on the hot start that their first-stringer helped lead. Cameron Sexton, a one-time starter who had been somewhat buried on the depth chart, led Carolina from 14 points down to beat Miami 28-24 last week.
