Inside Carolina tracks the performances of UNC's football recruits each weekend.

Highlights
  • Byron Best: returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown. In addition to playing defensive back, Best returned kicks and punts, and saw action at running back. “It was very important,” Best told the Index Journal when asked about the team’s lopsided win a year after escaping with a 13-9 victory against the Emerald. “A lot of people doubted us. People don’t really know what it takes.” -- Index Journal Article
  • Jhay Boyd: "... took a screen pass the opposite direction than it was intended and picked up 27 yards to set up his eventual 2-yard TD reception." -- Gaston Gazette Article
  • Ray Ray Davis: caught a 20-yard pass from Andy Capone. -- Charlotte Observer Article
  • Hunter Furr: rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns (4, 7, and 4 yards) on 18 carries. -- Winston-Salem Journal Article
  • Josh Hunter: intercepted a pass.
  • Josh McKie: completed 11-of-22 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns (17, 52, and 58 yards). McKie connected with his younger brother, Jeremiah, on four passes for 165 yards including the 52- and 58-yard scores. -- Greenville News Article
  • Donte Moss: recorded five tackles (three solo) and two sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble. He also rushed five times for 17 yards and two scores (4 and 2 yards). -- Inside Carolina Article
  • Bryn Renner: "UNC-bound QB Bryn Renner was a bright spot for the Spartans despite two interceptions. He passed for more than 240 yards and two touchdowns while leading a late comeback attempt." -- Washington Post Article Washington Post Gallery
  • Jerrell Rhodes: "had his way to the tune of 233 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns... Rhodes even showed his versatility with a halfback pass that went 52 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter." Rhodes rushed for 115 yards including a 57-yard touchdown on nine carries and caught two passes for 49 yards. -- Herald-Sun Article
