Kenan Stadium is a step closer to getting bigger and more luxurious. The University of North Carolina's Board of Trustees approved the design for a first phase of plans to substantially expand the Tar Heels' football stadium.

Last season, North Carolina’s Deunta Williams switched from wide receiver to safety. The move paid off. The Jacksonville native finished with 57 tackles and three interceptions en route to being named ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. He was also named first-team freshman All-America by several publications. We caught up with him and asked about a variety of topics at this week’s ACC Kickoff in Greensboro, Ga.

Appalachian State has played North Carolina in football only once - in 1940. Mountaineers coach Jerry Moore is trying to end the drought. Moore acknowledged Wednesday that he's tried to get the Tar Heels on their schedule. So far, North Carolina has balked.
