The Scout.com Combine tour will make a stop in Charlotte on Saturday morning with a number of UNC commitments and targets already registered to participate in the invitation-only event.

About 160 recruits have registered for Saturday’s combine, which will be conducted on the Carolina Panthers’ practice fields from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (registration is at 8 a.m.).

The combine will include five testing drills – 40-yard dash, pro agility shuttle, the three cone drill (L-cone), the standing broad jump, and the vertical jump. After the drills are completed, participants will partake in two hours of position-specific and one-on-one drills.

Justin Dixon will lead the way for the UNC commitments, hoping to continue his jaw-dropping combine performances. The Smithfield-Selma (N.C.) product took home the linebacker MVP at the Nike Combine last Saturday. The Saturday prior, he clocked a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and benched 185 pounds 32 times at the Shrine Bowl Combine.

Dixon’s teammate, athlete D.J. Bunn, as well as Ray-Ray Davis, a wide receiver from Monroe (N.C.) Sun Valley, and Jared McAdoo, a defensive tackle from Chapel Hill (N.C.), will also represent the class of future Tar Heels on Saturday.

Speaking of teammates, McAdoo’s line mate Robert Crisp, one of the top 2010 recruits, is also scheduled to attend. Crisp was awarded the offensive lineman MVP at last Saturday’s Nike Combine.

A good group of top UNC targets are also expected, including Hawatha Bell (LB, Matthews Butler), Travis Bond (OL, Bertie County), Devonte Holloman (S, Charlotte Independence), Damario Jeffrey (S, Columbia), Terry Shankle (ATH, South Stanly), and Brandon Thomas (OL, Roebuck Dorman).

Expected participants on the UNC radar consist of Justin Jackson (LB, Richmond County), Perry James (CB, Davie County), Jheranie Boyd (WR, Gastonia Ashbrook), Brian Johnson (DE, Charlotte Myers Park), Artrele Louis (RB, Kannapolis Brown), Will Simmons (OL, Hertford County), Damonte Terry (Scotland County), and Tucker Windle (Charlotte Catholic).

Stay tuned Saturday for Inside Carolina's in-depth coverage from Charlotte ...
