REFLECTIONS ON THE SEASON
I'm very happy with how we finished up and just overall how we did (LINK: Season Results/Stats). We got second place in three tournaments and finished second in our league behind a very good Gonzaga team, which half of our losses this season came against. Other than that, I think we had a great season.
But I can't say that I'm satisfied with how I played this season. Overall, I'm pretty happy. I think my assists went up by about six per game and my points went up one or two. I was just the overall floor leader this year.
I went to the doctor about two weeks ago because my knees were killing me a lot to the point where it hurt to run. They told me that my growth plates were pretty wide open and that I'd probably get two more inches at least. I've been icing it a lot now and I'm taking Ibuprofen for the pain.
I took this week off. Starting on Friday we start AAU practice and that's when I get heavy into working out and getting ready for my AAU season with Boo Williams. I want to continue to get stronger and work on my quickness and my speed on defense. I just want to become a little more aggressive, too.
Our team is going to be pretty good this year, I think. I'm pretty excited about it. We have a couple big-name kids like Marshawn Powell from The Miller School and Deshawn Painter from Booker T. I think Tristan Spurlock is going to play with us and Donte Hill, too. I'm excited about it.
FOLLOWING THE TAR HEELS
I've been following UNC's season very closely. I'm happy that they won the ACC championship and that they are going into the tournament with the No. 1 overall seed. I always keep in contact with the UNC coaches. I actually talked to one of the assistant coaches today about the tournament games coming up. We are excited about it. We start spring break on Thursday and Friday, so I'll pretty much be in bed watching every game.
