ROY WILLIAMS PC (including Hansbrough & Ellington)

(13:13)

On North Carolina's guard play:
"We've gotten to a point in the last week or so where Ty [Lawson] has been able to practice. [Quentin Thomas] has so much more confidence now. We've been splitting the time and repetitions during practice in the last week and I think that it helps. There shouldn't be any up and down peaks and valleys when you make substitutions because we do switch lineups every day in practice. Ten turnovers, I'll take that. We try to play at a fast pace so you are going to have those. Whether it is as smooth as I want, I don't think that is ever going to get there."

On the players coping with various calls:
"You've got to understand that the ref is not going to call it when you're bumped, and hopefully they won't call it on the other end when you bump the guy. But you [can't] get frustrated when it doesn't go that way. The players have to learn to adjust to how the game is being called by the referees."

On needing to win the tournament for a No. 1 seed in the East Region:
"Last week we had discussions because everybody said that we had to win against Duke to be the No. 1 seed and to stay at home. Well, we did that. Now, everybody thinks it's the same thing. I'll still say the same thing this week – we're going to try to play as well as we can play and on Sunday, we'll go wherever they tell us to go.

"But I don't get caught up in that. We haven't talked to our team about that. Until this week, and I'm telling you, I'll never hit another golf ball if this is a lie, until this week, I didn't know where the regionals were. I knew there was one in the state of North Carolina. I found out there was one in Phoenix – heck, I wouldn't mind going to Phoenix, it's warm. But I'm serious, I do nothing with those kinds of things."

WAYNE ELLINGTON

On his aggressiveness getting to the rim:
"In the first half, we kind of took a lot of outside shots and didn't really get the ball inside and weren't as aggressive as we like to be. In the second half, I tried to focus more on getting in the lane and making some plays."

TY LAWSON

(2:24)

On coming to Charlotte as the favorite:
"It's a good feeling. We just wanted to win this [game] and keep our momentum going for the next game. It feels good – hopefully we can win this tournament again.

Coach Williams mentioned that you were not 100 percent because you haven't blown by anybody yet:
"He's kind of right, because I haven't. I haven't tried. I'm just picking and choosing my spots. Normally I think I can take anybody, but right now, I'm just taking my time and trying to get back into the flow and not re-injure my ankle by going by someone and twisting it or something like that."

So you're actually not trying to blow by defenders? "Sometimes. Right now, I'm just trying to get back into the offense, because we've been playing different since I got injured. ‘Q' plays a different style than I do, so I'm just trying to get back into the rhythm of the team… It's not a pain thing. It's more mental than pain."

TYLER HANSBROUGH

(2:16)

On Coach Williams' intensity during the game:
"I think we feed off it. Coach definitely brings a lot of energy [to the team], and I think he expects the same from us."

On Florida State's mindset:
"We knew they were going to be aggressive. We've played them twice before so we've prepared for it. It's not something new to us – a lot of other teams play that way so I think we just came out knowing what they were going to do."

MARCUS GINYARD

(4:49)

On Quentin's 117th victory:
"That's a lot of games – it really is. That's crazy… That's the position you want to be in. You want to be that guy. Just winning games, winning games [and] winning games. I know it's a great feeling for him to be a part of that. It just shows how special this program is."

Is it a stretch to say that Tyler going to the line is part of your gameplan?
"Not at all. That's it right there. Get it inside and get fouled."
