According to The Tennessean, Michael McAdoo has verbally committed to North Carolina. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound defensive end from Antioch (Tenn.) will sign with UNC next week.

"I just felt more comfortable with their coaches and a couple of their players," McAdoo told the newspaper. "I grew up playing with (Mason and Gupton), and they had a lot of impact on me.

"When I visited there, what made it feel like home was when I met a couple of people and later in the week they were texting me, asking me how I liked my visit. When I met people at Kentucky, it wasn't like that."

McAdoo chose the Tar Heels after considering offers from Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Mississippi.

His senior season stats on defense were 48 tackles (19 for loss), six sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception
