Tyler Zeller to UNC

WASHINGTON, Ind. --- Tyler Zeller announced at Monday afternoon's press conference that he has committed to North Carolina. "I'm going to continue my career at UNC," he said to those in attendance at a local restaurant.

Zeller said the decision was made on Thursday and he called the coaches on Sunday evening.

"I just felt the most comfortable [at UNC]," he said. "I felt like I fit in with the players and coaches best at North Carolina."

He chose the Tar Heels over finalists Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame.

Zeller, a 6-11 power forward from Washington (Ind.) High, averaged 18.3 points and 9.5 rebounds his junior season, and set a school record by shooting 68 percent from the field.

His is ranked the No. 4 power forward in the 2008 class by ScoutHoops.com and the No. 16 prospect overall.
