CHAPEL HILL, NC -- University of North Carolina head football coach John Bunting addressed the media in his weekly football press conference on Tuesday morning.

  • The Arizona State football game will kick off at 10:00 pm (EDT), 7:00 pm local time, and there is no TV coverage for that game.

    *****

  • Injury update: Jarwarski Pollock is practicing in a limited role until further noitce, and Isaac Mooring suffered two broken bones in his right hand this past weekend -- not scheduled to practice on Tuesday, doubtful for Saturday vs. GT.

    *****

  • Last week's practices focused on getting back to the basics on defense in alignments, assignments, and tackling; some of the back-ups got reps on offense (QB, WR, OL).

    *****

  • Michael Gilmore is the only true freshmen who has not played who may still play this year.

    *****

  • In the wake of the Mooring injury Jacques Dumas will probably be moved over to the starting left defensive end. Tommy Davis and Larry Jessup become more likely to get action.

    *****

  • Bunting expects GT to try to establish the run and to attack on offense with multiple personnel groups and multiple formations within each group.

    *****

  • Bunting sees offensive execution and limiting turnovers as keys to success against GT. "Perfection of the obvious," as he put it.

    *****

  • The offense starts with the O-line: "The offense will play as well as the offensive line let's us play."
