"We are excited about bringing in Reyshawn Terry after he played for four years in North Carolina," Mavericks President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson said. "He is an extremely talented athlete, with a long body who shoots deep and can play either swing position. Besides being one of the best athletes in the draft, he is an overall great guy."
Terry, at 6-8, 222 pounds, averaged 9.7 points and 5.4 rebounds as a senior at UNC, shooting 43.7 percent on three-point attempts. His best statistical season was as a junior, when he posted 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds and earned Third Team All-ACC honors.
ESPN's scouting report on Terry highlighted that Terry is a "prototypical small forward," with "excellent size" and is a "good shooter with NBA three point range." The report also notes that he lacked a "take over mentality" during his college career.
