On practice -
That’s not the way you want to come into any ACC game. A couple of practices we had before the Virginia Tech game weren’t acceptable. We have to work better in practice. Not practicing well is not helping us perform well in games.
I don’t what the reason is. There’s no excuse to come out there and not practice hard. It’s a chance to go out there and play basketball and something we should look forward to every day. Hopefully this was just an aberration.
We had Wednesday off. Thursday we had a good practice. We went out there and competed. It was a tough practice and it went long. It’s good that we had a good practice, but we have to sustain that.
Ultimately, Coach Williams determines whether it was a good practice or not. If we don’t come out with the right focus or mentality, they shouldn’t have to spend time coaching effort and concentration.
It’s up to guys like, me and Reyshawn [Terry] to make sure they come out with
The one thing about Coach [Roy] Williams is he brings it every day. He’s into it as much as anybody there’s ever been. He’s just as consistent as he can be. We don’t feel like he let us down at all.
The most important thing is for us to improve and improve consistently. You have to be a better team in February than you were in January. And you have to be a better team in March than you were in February.
We can’t have letdowns where we play good for a couple of weeks and get, as coach says, ‘fat and happy,’ and we relax.
