On the meaning of the game -

"It was just a great team win. When I say team, I mean that so many different people contributed. That's the pleasure of coaching. To see guys that have self doubt and then come in and continue to work at it and grind and grind and grind. Cheick (Diakite), what great minutes he gave us; Chris Tucker, a great three; Nigel Munson, coming off the bench and giving us great minutes. Obviously, we expect it each and everyday from Jamon (Gordon) and Zabian (Dowdell). I told the guys that if they competed and really believed in each other and what we were trying to do, they would have the chance to have 10,000 people rush the court. It was just one of those special moments."

On the game -

"After the first four minutes, we did a terrific job – until the last four minutes – of getting back and setting our defense. Coleman Collins did a terrific job of making it hard for (Tyler) Hansbrough to catch the ball. The job [Collins] did defensively, and doing his work early defensively, was magnificent. He got great help. You see how explosive [North Carolina] is. As a group, we competed offensively, we competed defensively, and for the most we competed for the backboards. We did the things we need to do to have a chance."
