Can you update the status of Bobby Frasor's foot?
"The reality of it is we're going so slow because of his hip, much more so than his foot right. If it was just his foot, he'd probably be doing a few more things. His hip is really, really sore after taking that charge in the Kentucky game ... I've never seen anybody have this much pain for this long a time period from taking a charge. ... We'll still have to wait and see how it is today and then we'll make a decision about this weekend."
Was his foot ever a case of playing on it knowing it may break?
"They're saying basically he's got a sore spot and we're trying to be careful. Sometimes I don't think you need to hide things from people. We did this same exact thing with Marcus Ginyard last year and nothing ever developed. We were very careful with him for 4-5 weeks and everything worked out fine so that's what we're hoping for."
Reflecting on approaching win No. 500 -
"I'm not trying to be humble when I say this, but I think there are very few people in the world who have been as lucky as I have been. I've had great assistant coaches, some big-time players ... I've been very, very fortunate."
On Bobby Knight soon passing Dean Smith's all-time win total -
"I wanted Coach Smith to have the record and he has had it for several years. I think he is the greatest coach our game has ever known. So for me I really wanted him to have that and I know it meant more to me, his players and his other assistants than it did to him ... and he has a tremendous amount of respect for Bobby Knight as I do. If I had to pick a second coach that I've tried to copy things from it would be Coach Knight. I've always had a great deal of respect for the way he's run his program, the way they play on the offensive and defensive ends. He'd always say some things I wasn't comfortable in saying, but at the same time I giggled about a lot of them so I must have approved of them. I genuinely like him as a person, we've competed against each other many times ..."
How much good practice time have you been able to get in this week?
"It hasn't been bad. We gave them Tuesday off, but we've had pretty solid practices the rest of the week. Monday and Wednesday were really, really good -- yesterday was in front of the Rams Club and it's a little unusual with 600 people out there and I don't think it was as good as the previous two days, but it wasn't awful. I didn't go crazy or anything. We've had pretty good, solid work. Been concerned that now we've lost Marc Campbell and he's out for about three weeks. Quentin got his foot out of the cast yesterday and it's still going to be another 2-3 weeks, so we're down in point guard numbers. They've been pretty good practices and hopefully we'll have a great one today and try and get ready for High Point."
