“Our kids played hard, and that’s the one consolation they can take home with them. There were too many opportunities left out there on the field. Dropped balls and dropped interceptions are always a disappointing. We are disappointed with the loss. We showed a lot spirit and we’ll learn from this game. We’ve come close as far as getting over the hump and taking care of business. I think we played more physical.
“I think Barrington Edwards played his best football game.”
“We want to play smart football. We don’t want to throw an interception with the score 10-7 just before the half.”
Other than giving up the long run to Javarris James, can you talk about your run defense today?
“It’s improved. That’s a missed assignment on the long run. We can’t do that. This is not high school football. You have to be perfect or near perfect.”
On not getting Ronnie McGill going -
“We knew it would be tough sledding running the ball. This is one of the better defensive lines we face year in and year out. I thought Barrington Edwards did a reasonable job running the ball. I want him to run the ball like that every time.”
