UNC coach Mike Fox
"I like coming in here first. I have to give a lot of credit to Oregon State. They made the plays. It's a tale of two games. We felt good with the lead and then we opened the door for OSU and they took advantage of it. We opened that inning with (Tyler) Graham getting hit by a pitch and then a walk. We've talked about not giving up the big inning. We just couldn't prevent that tonight. (Kevin) Gunderson is a tough player. OSU hit the ball tonight. It just wasn't meant to be and we'll just have to come back out and do it again tomorrow."
On Kevin Gunderson
"I wasn't surprised to see him today. When you face elimination, you have to get the best guy out there. He's tough, and doubly tough on the left-handed guys. He gave OSU what they needed tonight."
On pitching tomorrow
"We're going to start Daniel Bard and he knows to be ready. We got behind today but we've got some rested arms and they're ready to go. Tomorrow is about execution. The box score shows no errors but the little things make the difference, a botched double play or a dropped bunt. We opened the door for OSU by not making those few plays. You always have to be on your toes."
Pitcher Robert Woodard
On the fourth inning
"My slider just came out of my hand too early and hit Graham. I didn't show the mental toughness that I usually have. I'm just very disappointed." Catcher Tim Federowicz
On his team's mindset for Monday's game
"We'll take it like it's any other weekend series. We know that we need to win. We'll just stay relaxed like we have every other game this week and just hope for the best."
On his night at the plate and mood in dugout
"I saw the ball well tonight. Somehow I knew what pitches were coming. Everyone calmed down after we got the big lead and then we were on cruise control. Then they just came back."
