Spring Game Today!

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina will hold its annual Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 8 at 12 Noon at Kenan Stadium. The game is part of Carolina's Super Saturday festival that also includes a football youth clinic, a pregame Kids' Zone and a postgame autograph session.

In addition to the football activities, Carolina's nationally-ranked women's tennis team plays host to Georgia Tech at 11 a.m. and the men's lacrosse team faces Virginia at 2 p.m.

For the first time ever, Carolina football coaches and players will host the Tar Heel Youth Football Experience on the Kenan Stadium playing field from 10-11 a.m. The clinic is open to kids ranging from second grade through eighth grade. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a space, please call the UNC Football Office at 919-966-2575, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The event is free and no football equipment is needed. Participants will work on drills and fundamentals with the Tar Heel players and receive hands-on coaching from head coach John Bunting and his staff. Registration on April 8 begins at 9:30 a.m. and participants should enter through Gate 10 at the east end of Kenan Stadium.

From 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., kids of all ages can participate in the UNC Kids' Zone, which will be set up in the East end zone of Kenan Stadium. The Kids' zone will feature several inflatables and games, including a Bounce House, the Sports Challenge inflatable, the Jousting inflatable and a giant Turn It Blue t-shirt.

Following the game, Bunting and Carolina players will be available on the field for an autograph session. Free autograph cards will be distributed to fans entering the game until supplies are exhausted.

Free parking is available in the Craige Deck, Boshamer Stadium lot and Highway 54 lot. Pay parking is also available in the Ramshead and Dogwood Deck. Kenan Stadium gates open at 10 a.m. and fans should enter through either Gates 6 or 8.

Concessions will be set up on the tarmac surrounding the playing field for children in the Kids' Zone and on the South concourse. For those looking for the latest UNC merchandise, UNC Student Stores will be selling Tar Heel products in the East end zone area and on the South concourse.

Members of the Rams Club are invited to attend the annual meeting and barbeque lunch beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the North concourse. Following lunch, the meeting is scheduled to start at 11:15 and will feature remarks from Bunting. Rams Club members should enter through Gate 2 on the North side of the stadium. John Bunting Live!, the popular call-in radio show featuring the Tar Heels' head coach will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Lucy's restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill.
