It sure looks like North Carolina has arrived with a late-season surge and Top 10 national ranking. Coach Roy Williams hopes his Tar Heels haven’t noticed.

Say what you want about Tyler Hansbrough, including the argument that he’s the best freshman ever to play in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Just don’t say that he’s exceeded expectations. That would be difficult to do, considering the expectations that were placed upon his shoulders even before he’d played his first college game.

Yes, Virginia, you're going to play North Carolina again. And yes, the Tar Heels are that good. You'll understand if the Cavaliers didn't spend a whole lot of time celebrating their 60-56 win over Virginia Tech in Thursday's first round of the ACC tournament. Soon after Virginia posted its third win over its state rival this season, a sobering reality hit. Its reward is a 7 p.m. date Friday with North Carolina, the hottest team in the ACC.
