Bunting on Weber
“I’m real excited to announce that Mark Weber is our new offensive line coach. He’s a guy who, after doing a lot of research and talking to a number of people on both coasts, that feel he has a great passion for this game. He loves to coach the offensive line. He’s a guy who develops good relationships with players. His familiarity with the system that Cignetti brings to us is going to help us get better faster. He’s developed whole bunch of really good players – an Outland Trophy winner and a first round pick that started 16 games for the Patriots as a rookie. He’s a great match for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I can’t wait to get his family out here and get him started in spring practice and watch him coach.”

Weber’s comment
“I just want to say I’m excited to be here. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work for Coach Bunting. It’s hard to find people with the integrity and character that Coach has, and he’s a great football guy. I’m excited to be here with him, and Frank Cignetti of course. I’ve coached a long time, for me working with Frank the last two years was tremendous. He’s the best coordinator I’ve been around and I’ve been around some pretty good ones. So I’m excited about that opportunity and the challenges here in the ACC. And I watched some tape, and I think we are very, very close to being a real good offensive football team. I’m also very excited to get here. They can’t wait to get to Chapel Hill and the East Coast.”

Bunting follow up
“Let me finish by saying this is a great get for North Carolina. When I knew Gary was going to retire, I had some choices to make. I knew it would be difficult and I knew North Carolina was going to have to step up. UNC stepped up with Marvin [Sanders], UNC stepped up to help me get Cignetti, and now UNC stepped up again to help me get the best offensive line coach I can get. And I'm really proud of that.”
