Sending Our Best

Along with the rest of the Carolina family, the staff and writers of Inside Carolina have missed seeing Hugh Morton this winter in his usual spot at the Smith Center, camera in hand, ready to capture the action.

Morton has taken some of the greatest photographs in the history of UNC athletics, and he's been a mentor and friend to many of us who work around the athletic program.

As he battles an illness at home near Banner Elk, the staff of Inside Carolina sends its best wishes to a true North Carolina legend, Hugh Morton, and to his family.

You can send well wishes to Hugh c/o Grandfather Mountain, P. O. Box 129, 2050 Blowing Rock Highway, Linville, NC 28646

We also wanted to showcase one of our personal favorites from Morton's UNC basketball collection - his shot of a soaring Michael Jordan at Carmichael Auditorium.
