The 6-9, 235-pound freshman from Poplar Bluff, Mo., opened the week Tuesday with a 14-point, nine-rebound, and three-steal performance in an 87-83 loss to second-ranked Duke.
Five nights later, Hansbrough had a game-high 25 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in the Tar Heels' 80-70 road win at Miami.
Hansbrough has scored 14 or more points in 16 straight games and leads all ACC freshmen in scoring (18.0) and rebounds (7.6). His seven ACC Rookie-of-the-Week honors are a Carolina record, eclipsing the six honors earned by Sam Perkins in 1980-81. The seven awards are second in ACC history behind Kenny Anderson's 10 selections in 1989-90.
