On his perfect free-throw shooting today -
"It's something I've been working on and concentrating on in practice - just getting in the gym and working on my free throws ... no one's guarding you at the free throw line and I've been working on it, so they're just going in."
Was this rivalry everything you thought it'd be? -
"It's probably more. I didn't know how hyped up it was until I came here."
On NCSU starting the game on an 11-0 run -
"I was like 'We've got to pick it up, we've got to get after it.' I didn't want to get embarassed and I felt like we were getting embarassed the first five minutes."
On Frasor's play and the run to end the game -
"Bobby played real well - he probably had his best game of the season. And I thought our defense started kicking it up and we didn't let them knock down open stuff."
What got into you in the second half?
"I got frustrated at myself with the turnovers, I just wanted to come out and start being aggressive. So I came out and starting attacking the basket and got some open looks."
On defending NCSU's motion offense -
"I thought we did great. Coach Holladay and the Blue team prepared us really well in practice. ... We wanted to speed them up a bit, they were walking it up and we wanted to get up on them and get it going."
On driving more to the basket -
"Bethel was up on me and I was kind of being passive and not looking to attack, but I made a move and got by him because he was pressuring me so close."
Are you trying not to get too excited considering what's coming up?
"In two days, we play a very capable Virginia Tech team ... So we know exactly what we have coming up. This is a great win for us, we'll enjoy it until midnight and then come back to practice tomorrow. ... This is definitely a step and a chance for us to say this is a new Carolina team. We're definitely going to take this as a stepping stone and try to keep climbing higher."
On Tyler Hansbrough's performance -
"He did a great job, and the whole team did, knocking down free throws especially late in the game and I think that's what capped the win off for us. ... He's our force on the inside and that helped us a lot for him to get going and knock down free throws."
On the defense in the last few minutes -
"We just called a timeout and said 'We need must-stops now.' Must-stops is what we work on all the time in practice and we just said 'No open looks for the three-point shooters' and we made some back-to-back stops and blew it open. "
