This weekend, Dendron (Va.) Surry County High School will continue their road to the state championship game with a second round match-up against Sussex Central, a team they beat 21-14 in the regular season finale.

Surry County head football coach Ervin Jones attributes much of the team's success – including its 9-2 record – to the play on both sides of the ball by North Carolina commitment Ed Barham.
