Spurs Waive Jawad Williams

The San Antonio Spurs announced Monday that they have waived Jawad Williams.

Williams appeared in three preseason games for the Spurs, averaging 4.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per contest.

He was a member of the North Carolina Tar Heels 2005 National Championship team. He averaged 13.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 37 games as a senior at UNC. Over the summer he played with the Golden State Warriors in the Reebok Vegas Summer League where he averaged 6.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in five games.
