Did you see a well-rested, energetic group?
“It was a very good practice. It was very, very hot at the beginning. These guys were in here earlier today to do some conditioning and some lifting. So they got put through the grinder today. I thought that was good. The concentration [was good]. There were very few mental errors out there today. No penalties or ball on the ground, so I was pleased.”

On the injury situation:
“We had Chase Page back full go today. Tommy Davis is about one day away. I think I only saw one red shirt out there today – Bryon Bishop, so that’s good.”

How about Jacoby Watkins?
“Jacoby has been back full. He’s doing most everything. He ran me over today.”

So he’s hitting?
“Yes; he’s getting contact now.”

Is Cooter Arnold your backup running back for now?
“He is a young guy who is going to help us and I think he’ll be able to help us this year. He can put his foot in the ground and go. He’s got another gear. He has a ton of ‘want to.’ He plays with a ton of confidence.”

What is his running style like?
“He’s a faster and bigger Jacque Lewis. He’s got a little bit of Chad Scott in him in that he can make you miss. He’s bigger than he thinks he is. He’s fighting hard to learn everything he can and devour the offense so he can get in there and play in the opener against Georgia Tech.”
