Felton, the fifth overall pick, was the Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year in 2004-05, averaging 12.9 points, 6.9 assists and 2.0 steals in 36 games for the national champion Tar Heels. He led North Carolina to two NCAA Tournament appearances and its first national title since 1993. The 6-1, 198-pound point guard left North Carolina as the only Tar Heels player ever to tally 1,000 points, 600 assists, 300 rebounds, 150 steals and 100 three-pointers.
May, a 6-9, 266-pound forward, was the 13th overall pick. He was voted MVP of the Final Four after scoring 26 points (10-11 from the field) and grabbing 10 rebounds against Illinois in the title game. May led the team with 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds in his junior season and was named All-American Second Team and All-ACC First Team. May set a single season Tar Heels record with 397 rebounds as a junior.
Felton and May will play with the Bobcats summer league entry at the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue from July 15-22.
After teaming up to lead North Carolina to the 2005 NCAA Championship, Raymond Felton and Sean May are embarking on their professional basketball career together as members of the Charlotte Bobcats. The team signed both first round draft picks Thursday, it was announced by Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff.
