Coretta Brown's 23 points paved the way for the Heels to roll over Wake Forest, 90-68. The Heels moved to 8-1 and 1-0 in the ACC with the win.
Brown was one of five Carolina players in double figures - ACC player of the week Nikki Teasley had 18 points and seven assists as well. Both Teasley and Brown nailed four three-pointers.
Chrystal Baptist tossed in 16 points and 12 rebounds and Candice Sutton and freshman Nikita Bell has ten apiece.
The Heels held a nine point lead at halftime that the Deacs cut to as small as six but Carolina exploded down the stretch.
The 18th ranked Heels host Richmond on Saturday at 7 p.m. It is a homecoming for Spider Ebony Tanner who played at Ravenscroft in Raleigh. Ravenscroft competed in the same private school classification with Charlotte Christian, where Tar Heels Leah Metcalf and Chrystal Baptist played.
