Tar Heels scheduling local teams for exhibitions instead of traveling clubs; Vince Carter reportedly wants a trade out of Toronto.

UNC senior associate athletics director Larry Gallo said Mount Olive and Winston-Salem State would be paid about $15,000 each for the exhibition games. The Tar Heels, in Roy Williams' first season as coach, had N.C. Central and Nike Elite as its two exhibition opponents, and Gallo said Williams' preference is to schedule in-state schools.

According to a league source, Carter is not happy with the recent appointment of Rob Babcock as the team's new general manager nor with the team's selection of Rafael Arajuo with the No. 8 pick in last month's NBA draft.
