Tallahassee Godby tailback Roy Upchurch started out slowly last year. He had just transfered from a 1-A high school and it took a while to get in synch with the rest of the offense.

"He really struggled early on but about midway through the season he really turned it on and rushed for over 100 yards each game down the stretch," Godby coach Shelton Crews said. Godby defeated cross-town rival Lincoln this past year, 35-27. This was the first game that powerhouse Lincoln had lost to another school in Tallahassee since 1999.
