Fleming Resigns As Defensive Backs Coach

CHAPEL HILL ----- University of North Carolina defensive backs coach Jim Fleming has resigned from the Tar Heel football coaching staff, head coach John Bunting announced on Monday.

"Jim and I discussed his status with the football program on Sunday and came to the mutual understanding that it was time for a change," Bunting said.

Fleming coached the last two seasons at North Carolina following a two-year stint as head coach at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. He has also coached at South Carolina, Boise State, Brown, East Carolina and Villanova.
