Neal nearing double-digit offers

Moe Neal’s recruitment has exploded over the past few months. Now, the 2016 Gastonia (N.C.) Forestview running back has nine scholarship offers.

Moe Neal’s recruitment is gaining momentum.

The Forestview standout holds offers from Akron, Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, NC State, Syracuse and Wake Forest. He is also attracting interest Indiana, North Carolina, Ole Miss and Stanford.

Out of all the schools, one is pursuing the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Neal most aggressively.

”Wake Forest is recruiting me the hardest,” he said. “It means a lot. They’ve been showing a lot of love to me and my family.”

This summer, Neal went to camps at Duke, Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee and most recently North Carolina.

”It was a pretty good camp,” he said. “I had a good experience and showed them what I can do. (Wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer told me they really liked me. My favorite part of the camp was the one-on-ones. I thought I did well.

”Coach Brewer told me to keep working and to keep getting better. He also said he wanted to see how my first three games of my season go. Hopefully, they’ll offer.”

In regards to the visits this fall, he already has some in mind.

”I know I’m going up Syracuse,” Neal said. “I’ll probably also try to get to Ole Miss and Mississippi State.”

Last season, Neal finished with 1,035 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns and 785 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He also had over 400 return yards and a kickoff return for a score.
