On Tuesday, surprising news came out that starting tight Josh Parris had a lower body injury that required surgery. As the day went on, a little more information came out regarding the nature of the injury.
The concern when the news was first announced was for Parris’ season. But with the latest update from head coach Scott Shafer, it appears to be a short-term injury that could have him back with the team in the near future.
”He had his surgery today on his knee,” Shafer said. “He got it cleaned out. It will be probably anywhere between two to four weeks. I saw him after wards and he’s doing well.”
That time frame gives Syracuse hope that he could return for the game against Central Michigan on September 13th. If not, the home matchup with Maryland the following week looks like a solid target as well.
Regardless, Parris is still likely to have a big impact on the Orange this season and the latest injury news is very positive.
