A: We' re just really young and don't have a lot of experience. Right now we're all about turning our weaknesses into strengths. We are young but we can control our work ethic and our attitude and since we're so young it's really easy to mold the guys into one big fit. Everyone's bought in on the offensive line. Then there's other stuff - technical stuff that we'll get better at throughout camp: pad level, coming off the ball, and knowing your assignments is the first priority.
Q: Being one of the older guys and already dubbed as a leader of this o-line, what kind of pressure does that put on you?
A: You know, it's different. I don't want to call it pressure because it's what the team needs me to be and I'm just going to be what they ask me to be. I know I can be more vocal with the guys, I've been here for awhile and they trust me. I'm just going to step up and approach the game like I always have; same work ethic, same Landon, just a different role.
Q: Of the younger guys who's stood out to you that's really been stepping up?
A: I'm really impressed with everybody. I was really excited this summer with our guys' work ethic going into training camp and we've continued that. We're not as consistent as I'd like us to be but I feel like I could call out everyone's name and they'd be doing something right. Brad Henson has come leagues from last year, he's a whole new person this year and it's so exciting to see that. Jon Heck has stepped into his role and I can count on him to help me out, to keep guys juiced up. Lucas - he's gotten some experience. We really hit the ground running with training camp and I'm really looking forward to seeing how we're going to be from here on out.
Q: What do you think is the one thing you guys are going to need to improve on in order for this o-line to be as successful as it can be?
A: Definitely pad level and just knowing our assignments. You know we're young and I feel like we have all the talent that we need but we just need to do our job and it' as simple as that.
Q: What can you say about the battle at quarterback so far?
A: We don't really pay much attention to that. Regardless, someone is telling us a play and we're doing our job. You know I think that for both Mitch and Quise, I think the competition is going to be good for them and the competition is good for the team. Whoever ends up there ends up there.
